- Hi All,
-
- Maybe somebody can help me here. Over the past few months I have been learning
- the C++ language, and I have found it a very enjoyable one. Up to now I have
- been writing small MS-DOS application to do very tasks, and to try out the
- different features of C++. I bought Visual C++ 1.00, and I have been using
- this. I do plan to upgrade when I have the money and know what extra features
- there are :)
-
- However, I do have a few questions. My knowledge as far as windows programming
- goes, extends to a pretty extensive knowledge of Visual Basic 3.0, and I
- understand the concept of controls.
-
- I have been reading the manuals and I have a basic understanding of where the
- ClassWizard puts things, and how to add code to a control event. To get used
- to how things work, I want to change the caption of a label, when a button is
- clicked on.
-
- To do this, I created a skeleton test app (minimal), and added an extra button
- to the about dialog. I then created an 'Onclick' event. What I wish to do is
- change the caption of one of the labels to something like 'Hi!'.
-
- Basically what I am asking, is how to access the properties of controls you
- have defined. And if someone could direct me to the manual references, I would
- be grateful. The manuals are so big and huge, its taking me ages to find
- anything of reference.
-
- Any help on this, and in the future, would be much appreciated!
-

- Cheers,
-
- Ben
